DeSantis vs. Horowitz (not really)

If you don’t listen to The Steve Deace Show, you missed the comparison of Ron DeSantis and Daniel Horowitz. (Also, Daniel has a 15-min segment at the end of every Wed show). Unlike most talkers on the right, Steve stepped out and endorsed Ron DeSantis a while back, knowing that it would alienate parts of his audience. He even talked about how annoying it was the Rush Limbaugh would never endorse in primaries. Anyway, on last Wednesday’s show (8/30), Steve compared Governor DeSantis to Daniel Horowitz:

“I cannot tell you how little he factors in political calculations… If Daniel Horowitz were a taller, athletic, Catholic, that’s who Ron DeSantis is.”

Website Facelift, Needs Content

The FloridaCAN.org website has been undergoing a facelift. We’re working to add back all the original content. More importantly, we need to get ahead of the next legislative session to be able to influence the session rather than just report on it. So far I don’t have any volunteers to help.

This matters because, regardless of what happens in the Republican primary, Governor DeSantis will not have the influence had had in 2023. He’ll either be nominated and gone or he’ll be returning to the governor’s mansion politically bruised. We will need help to counter the leftists from both parties who want to diminish individual liberty and abuse their positions to enrich themselves and their cronies.

The reason I say leftists is because the new “populist right” is completely misnamed. If you followed the training material I originally sent, you probably came across this political spectrum:

Any political group that wants to use government power to control individuals is leftist. There is no such thing as “right-wing” authoritarianism because the far right is anarchy (which is unstable and eventually swings full left to some authoritarian warlord). The constitutional position of limited government protecting individual rights is the political middle, but too many politicians are seduced by the power and benefits they can acquire in office. We need to keep them honest by staying on top of what they’re doing. They rely on anonymity and complexity to hide their agendas. Step up and help shine the light to expose the roaches.
